Adhere to admission quota, NANS tells institutions
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) on Saturday urged heads of tertiary institutions in Nigeria to adhere to the admission quota assigned to their various institutions.
In a statement issued in Abuja, Head of Public Relations, NANS, Nwankwo Ezekiel, said, “We want the higher institutions to adhere strictly to the admissions quota agreed and assigned to the various schools.
“We will not relent in stampeding the defaulted institutions, all in the interest of our members,” he stated.
The statement said students should be treated fairly by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and higher institutions of learning across the country.
It also condemned the delay in mobilising graduated students for the National Youth Service Corps scheme and their disqualification for not possessing JAMB registration number. Such a delay cannot be in the interest of the students, NANS declared.
