We must fight crude oil theft to safe guard democracy –Naval chief

THE Nigerian Navy yesterday took officers and men of the force through an oath taking ceremony, to ensure they work towards eradicating crude oil theft and boost the nation’s economy.

Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ibas, ordered all officers and men of the force to work with the present administration to fight crude oil theft to a standstill.

Admiral Ibas, who addressed the personnel of the Nigerian Navy after his elevation as the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), said he would not tolerate laxity and the involvement of naval personnel in illegality, especially as it concerned oil theft.

He stated that the country was losing much to crude oil theft, urging the officers and men to join him in the fight against crude oil theft.
