Three armed robbers arrested with N2.9million loot in Makurdi
Three dare devil armed robbers who snatched the sum of N2.9 million from a businessman in Makurdi have been apprehended by the Benue State Police Command.
Crime Watch gathered that the businessman had left his shop located around Wurukum area of the state capital to lodge the said money in a bank at the North Bank Area of Makurdi when the robbers who must have trailed him suddenly accosted him and ma away with the money.
The man was said to have immediately raised alarm,a development which made commercial motorcycle riders popularly known as Okada riders give the robbers who were escaping in a Toyota Corolla vehicle, a hot chase.
However, the police who were strategically stationed around Abu King Shuluwa Road, on sighting the robbers, engaged them in a gun duel I. Which two of them were apprehended while the rest members of the gang escaped on foot leaving the money and the vehicle on the spot.
It was also gathered that one of the robbers who was escaping on foot was arrested by the police along Gboko Road.
